These days have been extremely busy - thus the lack of posts.
But ... there's no lack of encouragement. We keep hearing from at least one of the couple that looked at this place last weekend. They really want to move out here and take over operations. They're hoping to hear from Farm Credit by Monday or so to find out if they will get the financing to make this purchase.
We're waiting - and occupying while we wait. Being well into the start of Farmer's Market season, we're kept quite busy preparing and going to markets on Thursday's and Friday's. This is a side income for us really, but good opportunity for our young men to learn sales skills and for us to pre-sell our pasture-raised poultry ...hopefully making it easier to wrap up that operation before we make our move.

The show happened today as scheduled. The couple that came would wish to take over the whole operation ... just the way we'd like to make a sale.

Shine & Show
We got a call late this afternoon. A heads up that there will be a showing of our place tomorrow afternoon.
So we're putting a shine on this place this evening ... and baking up a storm for tomorrow's Farmer's Market. Our cherry baking is a real hit with many of the people that come by to pick up their baking.
Too bad we're almost out of the cherries from last season... we're looking forward to another harvest. At least, I'm hoping we'll get some of them?! Depends on possession date at this end, I guess.
We have enjoyed these cherries so much, I will almost be a hardship to do without. Rest assured we'll be planting an orchard at the new place also - how many trees? Not sure yet, but it could be an income wherever we are for years to come - not to mention a nice addition to the family meals. (smile)
Today, when both Ken & I needed & asked God to bolster our faith, reassure us that this was indeed His plan for us to make a move and not just our own desires driving us forward ... God books an appointment with another potential buyer.

Letting Patience Work Perfection
The extension on our offer to the sellers in MB was signed and delivered today. The new deadline is June 19th.
We met with the MB sellers in Saskatoon as they were on their way through to their place in AB.
We were able to resolve a couple issues to mutual agreement. We are pleased with the results of that meeting, believing that we will not have as much pressure and premature commitments to this deal before we have wrapped things up at this end.
So, we continue to wait on the LORD, seeking further definitive direction from Him.
Yesterday evening through family devotions, Isaiah 42:16 spoke to our hearts:
"And I will bring the blind in the way that they knew not;
I will lead them in paths that they have not known:
I will make darkness light before them,
And crooked things straight.
These things I will do unto them, and not forsake them."
Another verse that repeatedly speaks peace to our hearts (I know I've quoted verse here before, note the emphasis) is James 1:3-4,
" Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
But let patience have her perfect work,
that ye may be perfect and entire,
wanting nothing."

A Bit More Action ...
One of the interested parties from yesterday has been asking further questions regarding the business component of our real estate listing - via email & through our realtor.
We've done our best to write it all out as they requested - there's so much to "say", it would be easier in person ... but, perhaps they're from out-of-province??!!

Weekend Summary
Friday - we worked/kept busy/had a good day - planting 4 x 100' rows of potatoes (in the orchard) among other tasks...
Saturday - Farmer's Market - record sales for 2008
Sunday - Church & Communion
- visited with Grandparents in afternoon @ their new camper at the lake.
Monday - we worked - eggs, gardening, broiler chicky preparations, laundry (etc. in the home) & saw some action on RE listing.
