A Major Steppingstone ...

Graduation 2008: Our eldest son, Corbyn, had his high school graduation today. We celebrated by having a Graduation Banquet with the family and both sets of Grandparents. It was a nice meal together at a local resturant.

Afterwards, we went over to Grandma & Grandpa Wiebe's for a bit of a presentation and a delicious dessert Grandma had made.

Ken shared a verse with Corbyn, Jeremiah 29:11 "...for I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you ..."

Earlier I had stopped in at Scot's Parable , I noticed a package of grad napkins with exactly that verse on it - of course, I bought them and we used them with our dessert later at Grandma's.

HSLDA has a very attractive diploma that we had ordered and filled out to formalize the occasion. We, Corbyn's parents also presented him with a proof set of the 2008 coins made by the Royal Canadian Mint - so appropriate, I thought, because they commemorate the year always increasing in value.

It was cool to discover that CBD has Class of '08 T-shirts this year ~ so we got him one of those also. Guess which verse was on the shirt? Yup, Jeremiah 29:11 (and that was not planned, I'd long forgotten what all the writing was on the shirt).

And finally, but not least, just yesterday after months, even years of searching, I found a local artisan who will etch a graduation rock for me - it did not get done in time to present it at our little grad celebration, but I am thankful to have finally found someone that can do the etching professionally. We intend to have each "milestone" in the boys lives etched into rocks that they can take with them when they leave home.
