The Still Small Voice

Today, Tuesday, May 13th was a busy day in Saskatoon, with errands and egg marketing filling the morning and a FoodSafe class from 1:00-5:00PM which Corbyn & I are taking today & tomorrow again. (a requirement for Farmer's Market)

Being busy is a good thing in these "waiting days".

As day turned to evening, I pondered what God's encouragement was for today. As far as I knew there was no word yet.

...BUT, I heard His still small voice once again during evening devotions as we read Isaiah 36. The enemy, the king of Assyria, was trying to deceive the people, warning them against following their King Hezekiah who has told his people to "Trust in the Lord".

Here are the verses, read them with me. What do you think?:

"13 Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.
14 Thus saith the king, Let not Hezekiah deceive you: for he shall not be able to deliver you.
15 Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us: the city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
16 Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Assyria, Make an agreement with me by a present, and come out to me: and eat ye every one of his vine, and every one of his fig tree, and drink ye every one the waters of his own cistern;...

21 But they held their peace, and answered him not a word: for the king's commandment was, saying, Answer him not."

The voice of the enemy is blaring. By contrast the voice of the LORD is a still small voice. It has been/and is a great exercise to listen daily for His "still small voice".

Please pray for us as the battle intensifies ... we want to be faithful. We want to be where God wants us!

THY will be done, O LORD! THY will be done!
